Gymnema

Known as a miracle fruit, Gymnema has been strongly recommended by traditional medicinal systems for the last 2000 years, as a highly effective naturopathic treatment for Diabetes. In ancient times, Gymnema extracts were used to treat conditions ranging from malaria to snake bites. Sushruta, the classic book on Ayurveda, defines Gymnema as a destroyer of 'Madhumeha' (glycosuria) and other urinary disorders. Found in the tropical forests of Southern and Central India, the herb is known to reduce blood sugar levels and improve pancreatic health in general. Gymnema Sylvestre reduces sugar cravings, when placed in the mouth and keeps it to a minimum for two hours. The herb is also used as an alternative treatment for Hyperglycemia, obesity, high cholesterol levels and digestion.
